Fix the annoying things Windows does with sleep & power

Your PC sleeps mid-download, won't sleep at night, or quietly resets your power settings. PowerDoze handles it for you — keeps apps awake while they're working, then lets the PC sleep on its own. Free, 100% local.

How it works

Set it once. It handles the rest.

Tell PowerDoze what should never get interrupted and when the PC should rest. It watches time, apps, fullscreen, Wi-Fi, and whether you're there — and adjusts in the background.

01 / Setup

Set your rules

Define when your PC should sleep, which apps prevent sleep, and what power mode to use for each time slot.

02 / Watch

PowerDoze monitors

It watches the time, running apps, fullscreen state, Wi-Fi network, and your activity level — silently.

03 / Adjust

Auto-adjusts

Power settings change automatically. No manual switching. Always the right mode for what you're doing.

Savings calculator

How much will you save?

Estimate based on PowerDoze users' typical 30% energy reduction. Adjust the inputs to match your setup.

Reference
0–24 hours
Energy saved kWh / year
Cost saved / year
CO₂ reduced kg / year

PowerDoze Pro pays for itself in .

Estimate based on a typical 30% reduction during idle periods (auto-sleep, screen timeout, CPU mode switching). Heavy 24/7 workloads save less by %; mostly-idle PCs save more.

Beyond electricity: Pro also automates power-mode switching, multi-monitor refresh rate, and per-app GPU preference — saving you manual hassle and reducing hardware stress from constant max load.

Compatible with Windows 10 (1903+) and Windows 11.

Install from Microsoft Store

One-click install · No SmartScreen warning · Automatic updates

On a phone? PowerDoze is a Windows 10/11 desktop app — open powerdoze.app on your PC to install.

Or download directly (advanced)

The Microsoft Store above is the easiest way to install. If you'd rather grab the installer or a portable build yourself, they're here.

Download for Windows
~45 MB · Installer · SHA-256 below
Portable .zip (no install)
Nervous about the installer? Get the portable version — just unzip and run. Usually no SmartScreen prompt.
Installer SHA-256 — verify your download matches:

Verify in PowerShell:
Get-FileHash .\PowerDoze_Setup_v2.2.0.exe
100% local · No account for the free tier · No telemetry · The only network calls are an update check + Pro license sign-in · One-time Pro, never a subscription
Windows will show a SmartScreen warning — here's why, and how to continue

Only relevant if you chose the direct download above. Installing from the Microsoft Store skips this entirely.

  1. On the blue "Windows protected your PC" dialog, click the small "More info" link.
  2. Click "Run anyway", then finish the installer as usual.
Windows SmartScreen dialog: click More info, then Run anyway

The direct-download build isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you. Installing from the Microsoft Store avoids this completely, or verify the SHA-256 above yourself. Either way, it's the same PowerDoze.

Want exact CPU temperature and wattage? Optional add-on.
  1. Download the add-on below, then run it — it installs in seconds.
  2. In PowerDoze, go to Settings → Advanced and turn on (or retry) Detailed Hardware Monitoring.
Download hardware-monitor add-on
~2.3 MB · No admin rights needed

This isn't part of the main installer because it includes a component that some antivirus software flags by default — it's a known false-positive pattern, not a virus. Skip it if you'd rather not deal with that; PowerDoze works fully without it, just without exact CPU temperature and wattage.

Who makes this

PowerDoze is made by one person — Nisonxi, a solo developer in Taiwan. I built it because my own PC sat idle at almost full power all day and nothing on the market fixed it properly: the built-in plans and sleep timer are static, and other tools each solve only one piece. It started as the tool I used every day, then became a product.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is PowerDoze free?
Yes! Core features are free forever. Pro unlocks advanced automation like app-based switching, Wi-Fi geofencing, and analytics. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Does it send my data anywhere?
No. PowerDoze runs entirely on your local machine. The only network requests are an optional update check and Pro license verification when you sign in. No telemetry, no analytics, no cloud sync.
Why does Windows SmartScreen show a warning?
Only the direct-download build triggers it: it isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you. The simplest way to skip the warning entirely is to install from the Microsoft Store. If you prefer the direct download, click "More info" then "Run anyway" — and you can verify the SHA-256 above. It's the same PowerDoze either way.
Can I transfer my license to a new PC?
Yes. Each Pro license works on up to 3 devices. Manage your bound devices from the account page — unbind an old PC to free a slot (one unbind every 30 days).
Does it work on laptops and desktops?
Both. Laptops benefit from battery policies and away mode. Desktops benefit from scheduled sleep rules and app-based power mode switching.
What happens if I don't like it?
The free version has no time limit. If you bought Pro, you have a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.
Is switching power modes safe? I keep mine on High performance just in case.
Yes. Power modes are a native Windows feature — every laptop switches them dozens of times a day as it's plugged in and unplugged. PowerDoze writes settings only through Windows' official powercfg interface (CPU limit, cooling policy, sleep and screen timeouts) and never touches the BIOS, drivers, fan curves or your overclock. Uninstall it and everything returns to Windows defaults. Staying on High performance 24/7 doesn't add safety — it just burns extra watts while the PC waits for you.
Isn't this already built into Windows 11?
Windows 11's Presence Sensing only runs on laptops that have a hardware presence sensor, and it only locks or dims the screen — it doesn't switch power modes, combine time / app / Wi-Fi / activity signals, or show you a savings report. PowerDoze detects presence in software (window focus + input activity), so it works on any desktop or laptop and ties presence into a complete power strategy with real savings tracking.
